Conductor Arnaud Oosterbaan

nr055aArnaud studied conducting at the conservatories of The Hague, Tilburg and Groningen, and specialized himself in conducting for the opera. For all his studies, he has got an average final mark as a 9. He has studied with including Louis Buskens (Brabant Choir Conductor), Antony Hermus (‘GMD Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau’ in Germany) and Alex Schillings (Professor Royal Conservatory of The Hague).
Arnaud has done his internship at opera productions of the Brabant Choir in collaboration with the Flemish Opera and the Lirique Atelier in Paris (National Opera).

In the recent years, Arnaud has been selected several times to participate in prestigious international master classes for conductors. In 2008 he followed master classes with the American conductor Benjamin Zander at The Royal Academy in London. Last summer (2010) he was a participant of the Järvi Summer Academy in Estonia with the Estonian conductor Neeme Järvi.

Highlight of the year 2010 is he Anton Kersjes conducting scholarship, a very eminent prize for coming up young musical talent. Arnaud will use the scholarship to develop himself intensively as a conductor. The program includes master classes, private lessons, competitions and language learning trips.

At this moment, Arnaud is an assistant conductor at the ‘Nationale Reisopera’ (National Opera tour). In 2011, in the context of the RAP (Resident Artist Program) of the ‘Nationale Reisopera’ (National Opera tour) he will conduct a showcase of the opera ‘La Bohème’ by Giacomo Puccini. For the season of 2011-2012 with the same opera company, he is appointed as an ‘assistant in residence'.
