Composed bij Giuseppe Verdi
Lyrics by Francesco Maria Piave

Hugely popular, Verdi’s heartrending tragedy is the most performed opera in the repertoire. A starkly resonant tale of society and morality, it tells the moving story of the beautiful but fragile courtesan Violetta.

La Traviata tells the moving story of how the beautiful but fragile courtesan Violetta is coerced into sacrificing her one hope of personal happiness for the sake of her lover’s reputation.
